Boden are a UK based clothing retailer, primarily selling online, and trading across UK, USA, Europe and Australia with an annual turnover of c.£350m.
Boden were going through a change in direction. The company realised they were behind the curve in terms of their digital output and wanted to recruit a marketing individual with a strong commercial skillset. A search was launched for a global marketing director who would ideally be British – natively understanding the brand position – but with strong practical experience of growing businesses in continental Europe and the USA. Both of these were desirable growth markets for the company, with digital and direct marketing being the key revenue channels.
ORESA ran a broad executive search process, speaking to candidates from both the East and West Coast of America, in the UK and EU. This culminated in a three person shortlist across Ohio, New York and France. The successful candidate was a British national who was repatriated from the USA to take the role. This individual then began restrategising the marketing function which led to ORESA working on the team build for growth. This project included recruiting a Head of PR, Head of Brand Communications and a Director of Data, Insight and Loyalty Marketing to complete the team.
