Our client is a £30m turnover multi-channel clothing business based in the UK. The company specialises in lifestyle and technical apparel and accessories; selling via retail, online and wholesale channels. They developed a requirement for support managing the Chief Apparel Officer recruitment process.
The Challenge
The challenge was to manage the Chief Apparel Officer recruitment process to appoint somebody capable of owning every step of the process. The individual needed to be an expert in lifestyle apparel, with a particular focus on surf and outdoor and understand technical seamless garments. The candidate would need to evaluate and redevelop the brand and product strategy, and have the added potential to become Managing Director. ORESA were commissioned to run an executive search process to find this individual.
The Solution
There were many Product Directors with fashion and lifestyle apparel experience in the UK however, we were not convinced that this would fulfil the requirement. We therefore ran a global search across the USA, Europe and APAC for the very best talent.
Our candidate, an Australian national domiciled in Hong Kong, was successfully recruited into the position and subsequently relocated to the UK. After 8 months in the business the candidate was promoted to a general management role and worked alongside the Finance Director effecting the brand, marketing and product strategies to successfully reposition the brand and product.
