The Business
Figleaves.com is a UK-based online lingerie, swimwear and nightwear retailer established in 1998 and purchased by N Brown Group in 2010. HQ is in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire and they have an annual turnover of approx. £40m. N Brown Group are an international online retailer of womenswear across UK, USA, France and Germany. To support further growth, they were seeking to scale up business leadership.
The Challenge
Figleaves.com had lost their MD. The company had run an internal search to find a suitable candidate but had not found somebody of suitable calibre. The key challenge to the search was the need for somebody with a mature digital and leadership skillset in order to review, consolidate and scale up the business. In addition, the desired candidate would have a depth of product experience, ideally in women’s fashion. ORESA were commissioned to find somebody at short notice.
The Solution
We ran an express search across the European digital fashion sector. Our international network enabled us to quickly identify and appoint the Chief Merchant of a fast growth international pureplay. With a depth in digital and product experience, and having held senior executive roles in the US, Europe and the UK, our candidate had the understanding and ambition to grow the well-known Figleaves brand.
Our candidate successfully restructured, expanded channels, grew sales and established the business as a lifestyle brand in its own right.
